52 Weeks of Neighboring - Week 45
/Neighboring Tip of the Week - Bake Christmas cookies and deliver them to a neighbor (or neighbors)!
Happy holidays, all!
The holidays are upon us! Wild. That also means that this crazy crazy year is coming to a close! It’s a time to grieve but also a time to celebrate, and we hope that however celebrating safely looks for you this year, that you enjoy every bit of it!
With the holidays upon us and this neighboring tip being Christmas themed, we’ll keep the tip short and sweet so that you have as much time as possible to experiment with it! Normally around this time of year, we encourage you to throw a Christmas Cookie Party with your neighbors, but this year, with coronavirus cases continuing to surge upwards around the world, we ask that you please not do that. Again, our number one priority right now is the health and safety of our neighbors. So, with that priority in mind, this week, we encourage you to bake Christmas cookies like you normally would but to instead deliver them to your neighbor(s)! Of course, when preparing the cookies, please practice good pandemic hygiene, and when delivering them, please do so in a way that allows for physical distancing. As with all food deliveries to your neighbors, we would also encourage you to make sure you have a conversation with the neighbor about the ingredients in the cookies, in case they have food sensitivities or allergies. Now, let’s get baking!
Perhaps you have a neighbor who lives alone and is unable to celebrate the holidays with family this year due to the pandemic. We would definitely encourage you to bring your cookies to them! But regardless of the situation, it’s so good to check in with your neighbors in the midst of this colder season when they may not be out and about as much - and they are sure to love the gesture of some delicious Christmas cookies, too!
Happy holidays and happy neighboring!
