Adult Immersion and Youth Groups

If you have a youth group, Sunday school or small group that would like to participate in an immersion contact us directly.  Contact Matt Johnson at socelife@gmail.com today for more information. More information about Youth Trips can be found here.

SoCe Immersions

The best way to really understand SoCe Life is to experience it yourself!  We host a variety of immersion programs that give you a chance to stay here in SoCe while learning about a topic that is important to you.

Undergrad Immersions

Our primary immersion is for undergrad students who are looking for an alternative to the typical mission trip.  In SoCe you will experience the routine of living in intentional community and explore how spiritual life together can transform a neighborhood.

Undergrad participants will experience intentional focus in these areas during their immersion time.

Environmental: Caring for our earth is really about the simple things. See what it is like to intentionally reduce consumption in everyday life.

Spiritual Formation: Prayer life, community, worship, and more all shape our spiritual life with God. Get a road map for the journey at our immersion.

Vocational Discernment: Unclear about God's direction for your life? This emphasis will focus on practices to follow the Spirit's leading in your career path.

Community Organizing: Mobilizing a neighborhood is no small task. Learn how to build relationships that can unlock the potential of any community.

Intentional Community: Discover the process of creating an intentional community first hand and gain a strategy for when you return to your own context.

Cost:  Cost are tailored for your group.  Give us a call to set up a trip today!

SoCe is happy to work with students to apply for independent study or internship credit at their institution.  This is handled on a case by case basis.

Come and See Weekends

The “Come and See” weekend is an opportunity to participate in the work and spiritual rhythms of SoCe Life. Each day will include spiritual practices such as prayer, art journaling, play and rest. Time will be spent doing hands-on work in the neighborhood, making connections with neighbors and gathering information about the community. There will also be teaching on spiritual formation and the missional life. In the evenings, there will be time for relaxation, music, games, and storytelling with folks from the neighborhood.

Cost: $150

The Julian Way

The Julian Way is an organization focused on education and empowerment with, for, and by, persons of diverse embodiments. We seek to help places of faith, and other cultural institutions, achieve greater universal accessibility, by fostering environments where persons of all embodiments can work for leadership and equity throughout the whole of human life together.

Best friends Justin Hancock, a disability advocate and activist, and Rebecca Mitts, an anxious pansexual, join forces to create community, have challenging conversations, and provide comedy (fool's) gold! Justin experiences day-to-day life with cerebral palsy, and Rebecca journeys with anxiety and depression.
